  • Deltamethrin is an antiparasitic agent available as a collar for dogs. It is prescribed by your veterinarian for control of ticks and sand flies on dogs.

  • Diabetes mellitus (DM or sugar diabetes) is often a disease of overweight, middle aged animals. The classical signs are weight loss, increased appetite, increased thirst and increased urination.

  • Diazepam is used to relieve anxiety, as a hypnotic agent, as an appetite stimulant and to control seizures (fits). Diazepam is a benzodiazepine.

  • Diethylstilbestrol (also called Stilboestrol) is a synthetic oestrogen. It has been used for treatment of enlarged prostate gland in male dogs and oestrogen responsive urinary incontinence and in some forms of aggression in females.

  • Digoxin is used to control the rate and rhythm of your pet's heart. It also improves the strength and efficiency with which the heart beats.

  • Dirlotapide is used to help reduce weight in dogs. Your veterinarian may prescribe dirlotapide if your pet is obese or overweight.

  • Domperidone is used to increase the movements or contractions of the stomach and intestines. It may be used to relieve the symptoms of vomiting.

  • Doxorubicin is a chemotherapeutic drug used to treat cancer in animals. These drugs can cause cancer in humans and should be handled with extreme caution.

  • Cardiac drugs are used to correct irregular heartbeat, to treat high blood pressure and enlarged heart (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy), and to decrease the heart rate.

  • Ear cleansers contain solvents that loosen wax, infected material and dirt in the ear canal so that it may be gently removed.
